The Last Airbender

Last night, we watched The Last Airbender at Eastwood Cinema. This movie has long been waited. We've seen the animated TV series and fell in love with the story and the characters (we're big fans) so when the movie came out, we expected something more. But when I found out that M. Shyamalan was the director, I hoped and prayed he won't mess up this movie. My officemates and I watched the trailer and I'd say the visual effects were impressive but still that doesn't change the way I feel about M. Knight Shyamalan. I can only set my expectations to the lowest point as I have never liked that guy ever since (the world began).

As soon as the movie started, I can only hear bad words coming out from Tapioca's mouth as if he had been robbed of money, literally. As I did not expect a lot from this movie, I did not feel as stress as my guy was. It was unbearably boring from beginning to end. Everything was so wrong. The story was rushed. Bad scripts therefore bad acting. None of the characters stood up. As in no one!!! Also lack of humor which the animated series was full of that's why it's a kid's show in the first place. I can go on and on but I'd rather not. We have endured the stress of watching the movie and I don't want to be stressed out all over again for the sake of this post.

I read from Wikipedia that it is still M. Knight Shyamalan who would direct the 2nd Airbender movie. I guess there is no need for me to say "I told you so" to Tapioca. He knew better. To the fans of the series, I say MKS is not the right guy for this project, in my honest opinion. So sorry :-(
