Birthday Bash at Buzz Point

Sunday, December 21, 2008

Happy Birthday to me! Officially I'm 26 years old. A year older and hopefully a year wiser. I decided to have a party at Daddy Fred's place for some booze and videoke!!! Nicey, nicey!!!

It's my first time to visit Buzz Point and what can I say, it's really great not to mention I didn't end up with a hole in my pocket. In other words pasok sa banga ang budget haha! And the best part of all is we all had a blast. Though di kumpleto ang BBSC Team we still had so much fun that I almost forgot to take some pictures hehe! Everyone's game to sing. Little did I know that my team mates are all so talented! Really, I'm amaze *big smile*. We all went home past 3am. Poor Jule and Josh who have shifts early in the morning.

Please pardon the pics for the lighting in Buzz Point wasn't that good and using flash will just ruin them.

pinaputok na tilapya...luv ko to pramis!

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the ever-talented singers of BBSC (plus Mommy Elean)...

Oops, Jule and Heño were missing. Sorry guys...next time ulet :-p

Chasing Pavements by Adele

Friday, December 19, 2008

I've made up my mind,
Don't need to think it over,
If I'm wrong I am right,
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust,
I know this is love but,

If I tell the world,
I'll never say enough,
Cause it was not said to you,
And that's exactly what I need to do,
If I'm in love with you,

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

I'd build myself up,
And fly around in circles,
Waiting as my heart drops,
And my back begins to tingle
Finally could this be it

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep on chasing pavements?
Should I just keep on chasing pavements?

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

Currently, I am so digging this song as well as the music video. The song is about confusion, losing hope, debating whether to keep going or rather asking question like, 'is it still making sense to hold on or just let go knowing there is no certainty either ways?' Hmmmm now I'm confused. Anyway, this is just my point of view. I think each of us can come up with our own meaning for this song depending on our own context.

Moving on with the music video, it's incredibly charming. I can't remember the last time I actually love a music video that I can play over and over and over again without getting tired of it. The concept was very original. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first time I saw people actually dancing on pavements. As in literally dancing on pavements at may lift pang nagaganap. Imagine that. Wow talaga! If you wanna know what I'm talking about go ahead you know where to find it. I-youtube na yan haha!

About the singer Adele, she is a 20 year-old Brit who became popular from launching her very own songs on MySpace. And through MySpace she got a record deal. She has an amazing voice comparable to Amy Winehouse and she has been nominated for four Grammy Awards next year in the category Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best New Artist. Coolness! I hope she wins. Go Brits!

First gay couple in boyband video...

Thursday, December 18, 2008

...this is according to BBC Newsbeat. And whose video? None other than Boyzone!!!! Their latest single Better, released this month together with a brand new music video in black in white featured the boyz paired with girlz except for Stephen. Man oh man (or should I say gay oh gay!!! wadahell!!!) he was with a gay and I think it was a brilliant idea. Stephen being true to himself and the lads supporting and accepting him for who he really is. Fabulous.

Click here to check out the entire article (if you're interested) and the music video.

Get Together....

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Last Friday we held our yearly get together (with college classmates) at Music 21 Plaza in Pasay City. Parati na lang kami kina Weng nagse-celebrate so mejo nahiya namin kami kaya napunta ang party to a new venue. It was really nice seeing them, catching up with everybody's lives etc etc. Though the gang was not complete we still had lots of fun. My work schedule didn't stop me from being present. Kahit late, sarado na ang MRT at super duper traffic lahat ng kalye sa Metro Manila, sugod pa rin me sa Pasay hehe!

...the early birds

I was late so I missed a lot. Kind of. I missed the good songs kasi nakanta na nila lahat. When I got there konti na lang ang oras na natitira at queueing ang bidioke machine. I missed the good food. Thank you whoever you are for taking pics of the food i missed. Di ko na rin naabutan si Sheryl kasi she's preggy and needed to get home early.

My gown...

Saturday, December 6, 2008

This is what I'm gonna wear for Rey and Anjee's wedding on the 27th of December in Ilocos. Actually this is just the planned design since their motiff is green and gold. I was thinking of having the entire dress in green and the lace in gold. Then for the skirt I opted for an A-cut so I won't look tiny. Anjee scouted for a bridal shop in Divisoria to get a better deal however this wasn't likely because our gowns turned out to be a nightmarish! Huhu! All of our gowns except for Anjee's wedding gown. Thank goodness!!!! They murdered my dress. Alright, the skirt was okay. It fitted me well. But the top, oh no the top!!! They made my top using gold linings and that awful awful white lace with white patches of flowers or leaves (or whatever) and added some beads. For some reason they can't find gold or yellow lace for my gown so they used this cheap white lace which made the gown oh so dead in color. Yeah, the gold lining wasn't that bad. It may or (may not) look good if they used green laces instead. I wonder how they come up with this as I instructed clearly what I wanted.

My disappointment leads me to Carolina's to check if those gold laces are really hard to find. To my surpise they are not hard to find at all. They're just...expensive! But really, I wanted the gown the way I visualized it on my head. I could have ask my mother to make the gown for me but I didn't. Sigh. If I remember correctly, I agreed to have my gown tailored by them knowing they're a bridal shop and they suppose to know where to get the right materials for gowns. Turns out I'm way way too wrong about this.

Apparently I'm in the same boat with Vanjee but hers was more horrendous. Vanjee told me her mother was laughing her ass off upon seeing her in the gown. She literally said she's like a drum. Ouch!!! I felt bad for her so my advise was to get another gown or better copy my gown but this time we're gonna make sure that my planned design will be followed. We learned our lesson so we will never go back to that bridal shop. If I can't get the gown that I wanted at least I would be able to see it with Vanjee :-)
